LANGUAGE LEARNING WITH TABLETS

Activity 1: Modal Verbs (must/mustn't, should/shouldn't)
The aim of the activity was to practise the use of the modal verbs in real situations and to develop digital skills in a funny and engaging way.
Step 1: talking about class rules
e,g We mustn't run in the classroom.
We must do our homework.
Step 2: Students took photographs of themselves representing those class rules.
Step 3: They added the rule to each photo, using a text-photo editing app.
Step 4: Presenting their work. (it can be seen in the video above)
Step 5: The photos with rules were printed and displayed in the classroom.

Activity 2: First Conditional
The aim of the activity was to practise the use of the first conditional sentences related to the protection of the environment and to develop digital skills.
Step 1: Students brainstormed sentences using the first conditional which were related with the environment.
e.g. If you plant more trees, the air will be cleaner.
Step 2: Students searched for photos on the internet which would best represent their sentences.
Step 3: They have labelled the photos with the sentences they had created. (they can be seen in the video above)

Activity 3: Photo Caption
The aim of the activity was to develop students' creativity, their written English and digital skills.
Step 1: searching on the internet very interesting, uncommon photos
Step 2: give a caption to each photo and write it on the photo
Step 3: sharing their work with each other (they can be seen in the video above)

Activity 4: Writing an email
In this lesson students learnt about the structure of an email, common opening and closing remarks, how to attach a file to an email, how to send an email and most importantly they wrote a real email on their tablets, attached a photo of them and sent it.
